TEENS UNPLUG - YOU CAN DO IT TOO
I brought my confirmation class to the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel once a month last
year. The first time there, I wondered if the fifteen minutes I scheduled would be too
long. Silence is rare in the plugged-in world that they are growing up in. They were
fidgeting, rustling papers and a few were frequently checking the clock. By the last time
we went to the chapel however, they were peaceful. They were at ease in the silence. Each
one had found what worked for them.
It's not hard to understand that silence for an hour would seem daunting. Someone said,
"An hour in the chapel? I couldn't do it. It only takes ten minutes or so to say my
prayers
then what do I do for the rest of the time?" Suggestions would be to
read spiritual books, the scripture, or write in a journal but the truth is that God will
gently lead you like He led the students.
Is God gently leading you now? Open yourself to God's prompting and schedule an adoration
hour. Right now we have need for new adorers. If anyone is available to sign up for Noon -
1pm on Sundays; 7pm-8pm on Fridays; or 11am -Noon on Mondays then you are greatly needed.
Call Martha Johns today at 839-2268. A new chart showing all hours where adorers are
needed is now posted outside the chapel.

Are you concerned about alcohol, drug, or sexual problems in yourself or someone you
love?? If these or other issues are of concern, you are welcome to call for an

"A wonderful surprise! It helped me understand some of the beliefs of the Catholic
faith that I didn't thoroughly understand. It gave me an opportunity to help my faith
grow. It was great!" Have you ever thought about updating or learning more about your
Catholic faith? Do you need to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation? Do you need to
receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist? Do you need to be Baptized? If you are an adult
or if you know of an adult who fits into these categories, the RCIA process may be for
you. We invite you to join us this fall beginning mid-September. For more details call
Renée at the Rectory at 839-1430 or email www.rvilla@ctksnyder.com.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
ONE HOUR WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
"Because people can't see Jesus, they take His love and Presence in the Blessed
Sacrament for granted. People are hesitant in making a commitment for a specific hour
because they let everything else come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Your faith
will make this commitment easy! 'Faith is confident assurance what we hope for, and
conviction about things we do not see.' - Hebrew 11:11" - Fr. Martin Lucia

is a powerful witness to many that, though silent, we are willing to state our beliefs
publicly without shame. We stand along Niagara Falls Blvd. holding signs stating that
"Abortion Kills Children" for one hour from 2:00-3:00 pm next Sunday, October
7t. Our new location will now be directly across from the Mall on Niagara Falls Blvd.
Please park on side streets (not parking lots) and assemble in front of the now closed
Krispy Kreme location at 1:45 pm. Signs will be distributed from there. Questions, please
call Kathy 839-9223.
PRAYER SHAWLS
Every Wednesday evening, a group of dedicated women meet in the Church Library to knit
Prayer Shawls. As we begin our knitting, an opening prayer is offered, and each
participant prays for those in need, asking God's love be woven into the yarn they are
using. When the shawls are completed, Fr. John blesses them. It is our hope that those who
receive the shawls might know God's comforting and healing presence. If you or someone you
know is ill, or going through a difficult time, we would like you to receive a prayer
shawl. They are free of charge. Please call Linda Maslona at 839-2363 or 839-7800, or the
Rectory at 839-1430.
