HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
Every Father's Day you get your dad the same thing, a tie, a pair of socks or another
tool. Have you ever taken the time to thank him for all his wisdom and life lessons he's
passed on to you over the years? Take a moment and thank your Dad for:
" Those annoying phrases you've caught yourself using with your kids.
" Teaching you the importance of quiet time during Monday night football.
" Uncovering the little known fact that there is no need for a laundry hamper, the
floor will
do just fine.
" Using your first car (he purchased for $350) to teach you humility.
" Teaching you the importance of a fine beer. It should be savored and appreciated as
a
work of art.
" Encouraging your own ingenuity by throwing away the instructions while saying,
"we
don't need these".
" Explaining the importance of planning for the future by never throwing away
anything
that, "might come in handy one day".
" Teaching you the only tools you really need are duct tape and a Swiss Army knife.
" Explaining why camping and fishing trips are considered "real vacations".
" Giving you the confidence to never have to ask for directions- you always know
where
you are going.
" How to do all the laundry in one load and allow more time for football.
FATHER'S DAY NOVENA - From Sun., June 19th through Mon. June 27th, there will be a

JOURNEY IN FAITH AND GRACE
Bishop Kmiec has announced plans to examine the health and stability of diocesan
institutions and parishes. This will involve a nearly 2-year study and will certainly
result in mergers and in some cases, closings of parishes. The priest shortage, while
acute, is not the only factor driving this study. Centers of populations have shifted,
leaving many churches serving very few people. Parochial schools will also be studied to
make certain that seats are filled and that funding is secure. One city parish closed its
school recently, a school which had only 101 students and consumed 90% of all parish
revenue. Not many schools are in such bad shape but many will have to examine their
funding and attendance. We will be part of the study even though our church is filled and
our school is strong. We will keep you informed as the planning continues.

A TRIBUTE TO THOSE IN THE MILITARY
During the month of July, our Parish will be honoring those who are serving in
the military. If you have a loved one who is in the service - overseas or
stateside - please send us his/her picture along with some basic information,
including where they are currently assigned. The Teen Youth Group will be
placing this information on the bulletin board in the Church vestibule. We will
be putting the pictures up this week, so if you have any to be included, please
drop them off at the Rectory by Monday.
MAY APPEAL DOWN $10,000!
As you know, our May Appeal is the annual major fund-raising effort we conduct for our
buildings and grounds maintenance. This year, our pledges are $10,000 lower than last
year. As of Tuesday, June 21st, our May Appeal pledges equal $69,636.
We have over 20 individual items to be accomplished for our campus this year. These
summer/fall projects amount to $85,000. As you can see we are very short of our
anticipated goal.
If you have not already submitted your pledge card please do so at your earliest
convenience. We are confident that you will be generous to the needs of the parish.
