Almighty & Eternal Father, we the (Smith) family, (then each member of the family says his first name beginning with the father), consecrate ourselves & our home to the Sacred Heart of Your only begotten Son, who loves us with a tender & everlasting love. May we return this love as He comes into the midst of our family to live & share our life in a special way from this day on.
We accept You, Divine Heart of Jesus, as a living member of this family. Stay with us, Lord. Sanctify our joys & comfort us in all our sorrows. May your Holy Spirit inspire each of us so that we may be continually aware of your special presence among us, especially of one another. Help us through this consecration to have a deep & loving respect for one another, so that we may daily live this consecration in our family life.
Let our love go beyond our home into the world so that we may do our part to win other families to your Sacred Heart, thus helping us form a real community among the families of this parish and of the whole world. AMEN

PIPE ORGAN PORTRAITS
We have been learning about the compound stops called "mixtures." These stops are custom-designed to offer as much variety in sound color as possible. The importance of getting the right tone quality to the ears of the listener is of prime importance to the designer and builder of organs. The Moller pipe organ at CTK will be enhanced with the addition of a 61 note, 3 rank (row of pipes). Mixture to complement the Great Chorus (used to accompany congregational singing). EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Please pick up your new schedule in the Ushers Room today after Mass.

MISSION CO-OP
Next Sunday a special collection will be taken for the Mission Co-Op. This year, Fr. Philip Pitya, will be speaking for the Sacred Heart Sisters of Sudan.
The Sudan is one of the African nations being devastated by a vicious civil war, between the arabicized Northern Sudanese Moslems against the Christians, and is being fought mainly in Southern Sudan. Juba, the location of the mission, is at the center of the war, with many catastrophic consequences on the communities. The communities are bombarded repeatedly, villages burned to the ground, men are killed, while young women and children are abducted and deported to face enslavement.
The people are desperate. They have lost everything, and are unable to help themselves. Humanitarian organizations are prevented from giving assistance, and the Moslem army have bombarded international relief workers as they deliver food and medicine to the starving, displaced communities. Help your brother's and sisters in faith as they struggle for survival.

A "BRAIN-STOMING" SESSION
The date for the next "Brain-Storming" meeting has been changed to Monday, June 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel Meeting Room. FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
The Adorers of the Perpetual Adoration wish to thank Jesus for the following favors:
1) Thank you for all those who extended help and kindness during the power outage this
spring.
2) Thank you for a beautiful healthy baby boy.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
1-HOUR EACH WEEK WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
Be a "Prayer Warrior for Peace!" Countless men throughout the ages have made many sacrifices to go to war. How few men are willing to make even a small sacrifice in order to bring about peace. There has never been a weak army that has ever won a battle against a stronger one. Evil prevails throughout the world today because those who are against God are willing to make more sacrifices than those who are for God. There is a spiritual warfare going on today between good an evil. … Who will awake from the complacency of indifference and become a soldier for Christ, a prayer warrior for peace? Who will be a man of God and take up the spiritual arms of prayer and sacrifice? "Stir into flame the gift God has bestowed upon you. The spirit God has given us is no cowardly spirit but rather one that makes us strong." (1Tim 1:6-7). Who will answer the appeal of Christ who calls out in the middle of the night. "Could you not watch one hour with me?"

CTK ORGANIZATION OF THE WEEK
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIAION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which adults become members of the Roman Catholic Church. The process is concerned with the total formation of the person into believing with the Parish Community (doctrinal formation), living with the Parish Community (practical formation), praying with the Parish Community (liturgical formation) and serving with the Parish Community (apostolic formation).
RCIA is a process of welcoming adult newcomers (inquirers) into the Roman Catholic Church. It is a community journey that leads to a transformation of mind and spirit. It is a personal journey in which church members re-examine their own relationship with God.
Inquirers come with their own life experience: their parents and siblings, their education and work and their present family and relationships. They bring their own particular story - their concerns, hurts, struggles, hopes and dreams.
Inquirers come from a variety of backgrounds. The process of full initiation is adapted to meet the needs of men and women who are (1) not baptized; (2) baptized in another Christian Church but in need of further instruction and initiation; (3) baptized in the Roman Catholic Church but not evangelized or completely initiated. Full initiation is when a person has received Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
The RCIA sessions are currently held on Thursday evenings, during the school year. The RCIA team helps to guide, instruct and support the newcomers through their journey.
We also invite all parishioners who are interested in updating their Catholic Education to join us. For further information call Fr. David at 839-1430.

Now that the School has come to an end, and formal Religious Education is over until the fall, it is your responsibility, as a parent, to encourage and provide spiritual growth to your child during the summer months. This can be done by attending weekly Mass, receiving the sacrament of reconciliation at least once during the summer, praying before meals, praying the rosary with your family, praying morning and evening prayers, and by encouraging your child to read the Bible and reading Bible stories to your younger children. Remember: the best way to teach your children is by example. See you in Church!

This leadership council works directly with adult coordinators, volunteers, and parish teens to plan programs & events that seek to increase faith, encourage friendship, and promote fun in a welcoming atmosphere.
We invite you to become an active part of teen life at Christ the King Church. For info on the items listed below, call Mrs. Maryann Peer (835-4977) or Mrs. Debbi Testa (834-3586).

APPROPRIATE DRESS FOR CHURCH
Most people have good common sense about what is appropriate dress for various occasions. For example, they wouldn't wear shorts or a T-shirt to a wedding or funeral, or suit and tie to a beach party; they would dress differently if they were going to eat at McDonald's than if they were dining at the Ritz Carlton. Our sense of what is appropriate dress for different occasions, stems from our appreciation of the meaning of the event and of our respect for the persons with whom and the place where it is celebrated. When we gather together with our parish family to celebrate Sunday Eucharist, let us realize that we come together to worship our God by celebrating His presence in Word, in Sacrament and in each other, and let us dress appropriately.

AMHERST MEALS ON WHEELS

FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
The Adorers of the Perpetual Adoration wish to thank Jesus for the following favors:
1) Thank you for helping make my marriage sweet again. My husband is no longer
drinking;
2) Thank you for answering my prayers to be able to use my career for God's will.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
1-HOUR EACH WEEK WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
Would You Consider Nighttime Adoration? Our Lady of Fatima said that there are more souls going to hell because there is no one to pray and make sacrifices for them. The sacrifice you make by spending an hour with Jesus in the middle of the night will save many souls from hell and bring many souls to heaven. The love you give to Jesus in this special sacrifice will win pardon and forgiveness for those who do not love Him at all. The value of your sacrifice is expressed in the Reparation Prayer of Fatima: "My God, I believe, I adore, I trust, I hope and I love thee. I beg pardon for all those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, do not hope and do not love Thee."

MUSIC MINISTRY
Cantor Workshops for summer 2002 are as follows: June 26 at 7:00 pm; July 11 at 7:00 pm, July 27 at 2:00 pm, August 1 at 7 pm and August 17 at 2 pm. Please meet in the Music Room, which is off of the Lower Church. This exciting ministry is for teens and adults who would like to learn more about leading others in song during weekend liturgies. Contact Christina for more information.
Instrumentalists - Anyone who would like to play an instrument at liturgies during the summer season, please see Christina for details. Teens and adults welcomed
The Music Room is located at the bottom of the stairs accessible from the entrance on the circular driveway on Lamarck. Christina Shrewsbury is the Music Director at CTK. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please call her at 839-1430, ext. 212.

WHEN YOU SPEAK, WE LISTEN!
We are anxious to hear your voice to tell us of the needs of our neighbors. We will try to alleviate this immediate need for food, medicine, etc. Almsgiving is but one of many expressions of charity; informing the St. Vincent de Paul Society of another's needs to another expression of love. Call the Rectory at 839-1430 and leave a message for the St. Vincent de Paul Society if you need help.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY
A group of men in our parish gather together whenever a loved one is taken from our midst. These men will recite the rosary at the wake of male members of the family. If your family would like to receive the blessings connected with this ministry please consider it a part of your future plans. Upon the death of a male member of your family, if you would like the rosary recited at their wake, kindly alert one of the parish priests, the Rectory Office, or the funeral director who will in turn notify our group. Past experiences have proven most comforting for the family.

FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
The Adorers of the Perpetual Adoration wish to thank Jesus for the following favors:
1) Thank you for delivering me from a dangerous situation.
2) Thank you for a successful year in school.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
1-HOUR EACH WEEK WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
Is Jesus important enough to you to set aside one special hour each week to be with Him? Just one hour, once a week, is all that He is asking. This is a simple matter of putting first things first. "In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success." (Proverb 3:6)
Because people can't see Jesus, they take His love and Presence in the Blessed Sacrament for granted. People are hesitant in making a commitment for a specific hour because they let everything else come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Your faith will make this commitment easy! "Faith is confident assurance concerning what we hope for, and conviction about things we do not see." (Hebrew 11:11)
