whole lifetime without it." - St. Peter Julian Eymard
FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

2) Thank you for the extended quality of life who has pancreatic cancer;
CTK PARISHIONERS, THANK YOU once again for being generous with your donations of
mittens, hats, gloves and socks. Three full trash bags were given to both Holy Cross
Church on Niagara Street, and to St. Luke's Mission of Mercy. Many thanks and blessings in
the New Year.
THANK YOU FROM ERIE COUNTY HOME - The Social Justice Committee thanks all who donated
to the Erie County Home Christmas Giving Tree. About 16 parishioners, including three
young students, spent Sunday, December 18 with our own Santa, distributing gifts, joy and
song, along with 50+ candy trees assembled by CTK students, to Units J and K at the EC
Home. The smiles and tears of happiness on the faces of the patients, was the greatest
thanks we could get. It was a day to remember. Consider joining us next year. You won't
regret it. Our parishioners donated lovely gifts, which exceeded our Units needs, and
other Units also received gifts. Check the bulletin board in the Church Vestibule to see
pictures of our day. God bless you all

KNITTERS WANTED!
The Prayer Shawl Ministry has been at Christ the King for 3 years - and we have knitted,
blessed and distributed over 400 prayer shawls to those who are sick, grieving or going
through a difficult time. The response has been overwhelming. In order to keep up with the
demand, we need knitters or crocheters who are willing to spend a couple of hours a week
doing what we love to do. What better way to use your God given talents than to help those
who are in need. We meet every Wednesday evening in the Church Library from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
All you need to bring are needles - size 11 or 13 - we supply the yarn. For more
information, call Linda Maslona at 839-2363.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
ONE HOUR WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
"A father and a mother make many sacrifices to feed, clothe and shelter their family.
Without sacrifice, there is no love. The spirit of sacrifice is the spirit of
Christianity. Jesus sacrificed everything for love of you and your salvation. Are you
willing to make this sacrifice for love of Him, that our parish may give Him the glory of
having perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament." - The Value of Sacrifice
FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

2) Thank you for my family and the trials we face;

IN THIS SEASON OF COLDS AND FLU, SNEEZING AND COUGHING
If you are sick, it would

Sign of Peace until you are well. REMEMBER: If you have difficulty getting around in good
weather, please stay home when it is icy or snowy. God understands.

CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES
The Second Collection today, is the annual collection of the American Bishop's Overseas
Appeal. This appeal supports the Catholic Church organizations that carry out
international solidarity and relief efforts. Programs include relief and resettlement
services to victims of persecution, war, and natural disasters as well as development
projects to improve the living conditions of the poor. Less than two cents of every dollar
collected is used for fund raising and administration expenses. Please be generous for
this worthwhile organization.
A VOCATION JOURNEY SHARED

how his vocation developed. He will be available after each Mass to answer any questions.
For more information on vocations, please contact Rev. Walter J. Szczesny at 847-5535.

ANOTHER REASON FOR WANTING TO SPEND
ONE HOUR WITH JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
"Give thanks to God for favors received. Pause and spend a moment looking at this
day's gifts. Be concrete! Recall the taste of jam on toast, the fragrance of a flower, the
smile brought forth by a kind word, an act of patience that gave someone ease. Take stock
of what you received and gave." - Fr. Joseph F. Burke, S.J. A Wholistic Approach to
Spirituality
FAVORS GRANTED THROUGH PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

2) Thank you for a successful reunion;
THE ROSARY CHAIN - The parish Rosary Chain is made up of a group of parishioners who
pray a daily decade of the rosary for special requested intentions. If you have an

to keep their intentions private.

Set Aside March 24th -31st for Mission VI
TOO MANY CALENDARS? This is the time of year when many of us end up with various
calendars for the New Year that we know we will never use or need. Did you know that many
of the patrons of the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room never own a calendar? They would
appreciate any extra calendars you may receive over the next few weeks. Please drop them
off at the Rectory.
CHRISTMAS CARDS - After you have enjoyed your Christmas cards, it's hard to just throw
them away. If you wish, you can mail them (just the front of the card please - no larger
than 5"x7") to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, 100 St. Jude St., Boulder City, NV
89005.
IN THIS SEASON OF COLDS AND FLU, SNEEZING AND COUGHING
If you are sick, it would
be better for you to remain at home, rather than coming to church and spreading your
germs. If you have a cold, please do not receive the Precious Blood at Mass or extend the
Sign of Peace until you are well. REMEMBER: If you have difficulty getting around in good
weather, please stay home when it is icy or snowy. God understands.
CATHOLIC BIBLICAL STUDIES PROGRAM - It's a brand new year and time to do something for
yourself. Consider being a student in the Catholic Biblical Studies Program. The Bible is
for everyone and classes are open to adults of all ages and creeds. New classes begin in
September of 2007. Check out our website at www.cbstudies.org or call 871-9180 for more
information.
STRUGGLING WITH CHANGE - Sometimes it's difficult to deal with change. Deacon Ted
Pijacki will explore "Struggling with Change" at the next session of Come and
See on Thursday, February 1st at 7:30 p.m. in St. Benedict Church (Main & Eggert Rd.)
Discussion topics include: bereavement, divorce and separation, annulments, life issues,
problems with the Church, coping with cancer. No cost. No reservations required. For
information call 834-1041.
ANNULMENT WRITING WORKSHOP - Having trouble writing your annulment papers? There will
be an Annulment Writing Workshop on Friday, February 16th and Saturday, February 17th at

Mission VI
March 24th-31st
"The word of the Lord came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you." -
Jeremiah 1
Question of the Week: If Jesus returned today, how prepared are you to meet him?
Faith Response: Read a book about something you know nothing about: a saint's life, the
history of the church, the dialogue between Catholics and Jews, the church's teaching on
capital punishment. Be open to learning something new every day.
"SOUPER" BOWL OF CARING ON FEBRUARY 3rd & 4th
WAYS TO SHOW WE CARE
The CTK Teen Youth Group will be having their annual Dollar Drive after all Masses on

Youth Convention and will bring all the items collected for distribution to those who
arrive to our country with little or nothing at all.
Essential items needed are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath towels, washcloths, bars of
soap,
small bottles of shampoo, shaving cream, packages of disposable razors, combs, &
deodorant.
Additional items have also been requested: Adult sized gloves, lotion, new T-shirts
(medium or large), blankets, twin sheet sets, rain ponchos, hats
We thank you for any donation that you are able to make. Please place all items in the
labeled box in the upstairs foyer.
