BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP

When we lose a loved one by death, we are wounded.  Just as a wound does, we need to heal from within, to express our thoughts and feelings, even when they seem crazy.  A support group is a safe haven where we can talk, cry, share our anger, guilt and fears wit those who understand and care.

A Bereavement Support Group, sponsored by Christ the King Bereavement Committee, has been organized for all persons grieving the death of a loved one.  The program will consist of six sessions beginning Wednesday, Sept 20th and every other Wednesday, thru November 29th.  The program will be held in the Church Library.  For more information, please call Linda Maslona at 839-2363.

YOUTH PICNIC UPDATE

The Teen Youth Group Annual Summer Picnic was a great kick-off for this year’s events.  Over 40 teens gathered and enjoyed a wonderfully warm afternoon and evening of food music, and fun by the pool.  Swimming and water balloons were definitely a hit.  Many thanks to Father David for a beautiful outdoor celebration of Mass, and thanks to all the teens and parents who sent so many tasty treats to enjoy.  A great time was had by all.

A VOCATION VIEW

The Gospel asks us: “How can Jesus give us His flesh to eat?”  Our lack of knowledge does not prevent us from being lured into the mystery.  The mystery makes it all the more appealing when we say in faith, “My Lord and my God!”  In faith we can respond, also, to God’s invitation to be His priest or religious.  Talk today to your children, grandchildren and godchildren about priesthood  and religious life.   Call Father Leon Biernat at 847-5535.

NOTES FROM MUSIC MINISTRY

Call Christina, Dir. Of Music Ministry at 839-1430, ext. 212.

Question: If only one thing is sung in the Liturgy of the Word, what should it be?  Answer: The Alleluia before the gospel, because the gospel is the most important part of the Liturgy of the Word.

Get up. He is calling you!” (Mark 10:50)
