The only parking allowed in the small parking lot is in the designated parking spaces. Last week someone needed to leave during the 4:30 mass but they were unable to. Parking in the driveway is a fire hazard and a hindrance to emergency vehicles. YOUR COOPERATION IS NEEDED!

CHILDREN'S CLOTHING DRIVE - ENDS THIS WEEKEND!
The teen Youth Group is commemorating World Youth Day this year by hosting a clothing drive for children through the ministry at Harvest House. This is the final weekend for donating
new & gently used clothing items in sizes ranging from newborn through children's size 14. Please drop off items in the collection box in the upstairs foyer under the bulletin board. Harvest house has indicated a special need for: pajamas, underwear & socks in sizes 3-14; onesies in sizes 18-24 months; any clothing in sizes 5 & 6.

PARENTING PERSPECTIVE: "If you are too busy to pray, you're too busy. Pick a specific and regular time each day to say a prayer for your spouse, child, etc., such as 'Dear God, bless _____ today.' It might be when you start the car, wash your hands, brush your teeth, etc! It's short, doesn't take any extra time, just extra awareness of your beloved, and entrusting him or her to God's care." - Family Life Dept.

FEAST OF ALL SOULS - Sunday, Nov. 2nd is All Souls Day. Envelopes are available in the back of Church for your All Souls Day intentions. This is a wonderful way for us to pray for all our deceased relatives and friends. They will be remembered at Masses throughout the year and on All Souls Day. 2ND - John T. Stofer and Cynthia Nowicki

IN THIS SEASON OF COLDS AND FLU, SNEEZING AND COUGHING… If you are sick, it would be better for you to remain at home, rather than coming to church and spreading your germs. If you have a cold, please do not receive the Precious Blood at Mass or extend the Sign of Peace until you are well. REMEMBER: If you have difficulty getting around in good weather, please stay home when it is icy or snowy. God understands.

FOOD IN CHURCH - We are aware that on occasion parents will bring food (cheerios, pretzels, etc.) for their pre-school children to munch on during mass. We ask your consideration in keeping that food confined to the container you are using. The Church is cleaned just once a week, & we cannot vacuum the floor & rug every time some food is spilled. We would like to avoid attracting bugs & rodents - so please keep the food off of the floor.

"SCRAPBOOKING" FOR SENIORS
Parish Outreach would like to offer the Seniors of our parish a tangible way to collect, celebrate and pass on their most treasured memories and life stories. Each person is the star of his or her life. A life story, that when told, is an album, becomes a legacy. We would like to help you organize your photographs, mementos & thoughts. We will be meeting in the Church Library on Wednesday, Nov. 19th from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. We all have special moments in our lives that we especially like to remember - childhood moments, vacations, quiet times with family and friends, a wedding, graduation or the birth of a new baby. These memories become our history that forms our family traditions, which are passed on through generations. You will receive a photo album, a pen, tape for photographs & sheets to take home. The cost is $10. If you would like to register or have any questions, please call Keri Mayer at 831-1246 or Linda Maslona at 839-2363.

The 10:00 am Mass will be planned by the Bishop's Committee, and there will be coffee and donuts served after Mass. Parishioners attending these Masses are asked to bring canned goods to be used at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room. Traditionally, the Thanksgiving Day collection is given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in our parish to help them carry out their good works for people in need. This is their main income for the year, and your monetary contributions are greatly appreciated. A special Thanksgiving Day Envelope can be found in your packet of church envelopes. It may be returned on Thanksgiving Day or the Sunday before or after. Thank you for your support.

We will be decorating the interiors of the Upper & Lower Church and entranceways on Mon., Dec. 22nd & Tues., Dec. 23rd at 9:00 am. We will use the Chapel Meeting Room as our gathering point. BEREAVEMENT AND "GETTING THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS" - Perhaps the most difficult time of the year for a family struggling with the loss of a loved one is the holiday season. SPIRITUAL ADOPTION - The Respect Life Committee thanks the 180 people who committed to spiritually adopting an unborn child in danger of abortion with promises of prayer! Over the next 9 months we will be providing monthly bulletin announcements with information about the growth of your adopted baby. Remember that as your baby grows, his or her mother is experiencing changes too. Let us pray that all pregnant women will recognize their unborn children as a gift from God and be given the resources to care for themselves and their babies.

YOUR SPIRITUALLY ADOPTED BABY - ONE MONTH DEVELOPMENT - Your baby has been quite active over the past month. Already he is 10,000 times bigger than as conception. Your baby has developed the foundations of his brain, spinal cord, and nervous system by the 20th day. His heart began to beat on the 21st day and is pumping blood through its own circulatory system. The blood type can be different from the mother's. Your baby is most vulnerable during the next month of being aborted. Pray the Lord of Life might move the heart of his mother to give him the most precious gift of all - the gift of life.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING NOTES FROM NOV. 3RD
" The Sacrament of Confirmation was a great success on Oct. 20th, with 67 of our young people confirmed by Bishop Edward M. Grosz, Aux. Bishop of Buffalo. Msgr. Lichtenthal reported that the Bishop was very pleased and impressed with the preparedness of the candidates. He noted that parishioners can be proud of the CTK Religious Education program, with special recognition of Peggy Page for her exemplary dedication as Director of the program.
" The Council has formed an ad hoc committee to address the issue of preparing for a time when CTK will operate as a parish with only one priest. Fr. Joe's duties with Catholic Charities and the growing shortage of new priests will make such a scenario a reality in the not-too-distant-future. The committee is acting now to explore ways to assist Msgr. through more involvement by parishioners and other means that will ensure the well-being of our faith community as we move forward.
" The Annual Memorial Mass sponsored by the Bereavement Committee was well-attended in honor of all those parishioners who have died in the past year. The committee report noted participation by many parishioners who may not have lost a loved one, but came to support those who did.
" The next Parish Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 1st.

CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING:
" Thanksgiving Week is also National Family Week. Early in the week have all family members make their own private list of things for which they are most grateful. These could be read in turns like a litany as the Meal Prayer.
" During the month of November have family members write a letter of thanksgiving to someone who touched his/her life in a special way within the past year.
" For the Thanksgiving meal let as many members of the family assist in preparation as possible and recognize their contributions.

"SCRAPBOOKING" FOR SENIORS - Parish Outreach is offering the Seniors of our parish a tangible way to collect, celebrate & pass on their most treasured memories & life stories. Each person is the star of his or her life & that story, when told, is an album that becomes a legacy. There are special moments in our lives that we especially like to remember - childhood moments, vacations, quiet times with family & friends, a wedding, graduation or the birth of a new baby. These memories become our history that forms our family traditions, which are passed on through generations. We would like to help you organize your photographs, mementos & thoughts. The next meetings will be in the Church Library from 9:30-11:30 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 1st, 8th & 15th. You will receive a photo album, a pen, tape for photographs & sheets to take home. The cost is $10. If you would like to register or have any questions, please call Keri Mayer at 831-1246 or Linda Maslona at 839-2363. You may join at any time.

YOUTH NEWS
The Teen Youth Group of CTK is an organization in which all high school teen parishioners are automatically members. Teens are encouraged to participate in any or all events. Members who feel a strong dedication and commitment to serve should consider a position on the CTK Youth Council. This leadership council works directly with adult coordinators, volunteers, and parish teens to plan programs & events that seek to increase faith, encourage friendship, & promote fun in a welcoming atmosphere. We invite you to become an active part of teen life at CTK Church. For info on items listed below, call Mrs. Maryann Peer (835-4977) or Mrs. Debbi Testa (834-3586).

ADOPT A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS - The St. Vincent de Paul Society knows of several families (from the city of Buffalo) that are experiencing financial difficulties at the present time. Consequently, their holiday season is looking rather bleak. If your family would be interested in adopting one of these families, and helping them with support in the way of food and gifts, please contact Sue Cleary at 741-5043.

JUNIOR GIRL SCOUT TROOP #1786 (4th Graders from Smallwood) has donated a portion of their profit from the Girl Scout Cookie sale to help a family this Christmas.
