God's mercy is theirs. If you think God is calling you to a Church vocation, call Father

UNLIMITED VISITING HOURS!
Christ the King Parish has been blessed with the beautiful devotion of Perpetual
Eucharistic Adoration. It is so important to stop and contemplate how much Jesus loves us.
He chooses to be with us in the Blessed Sacrament day and night. It is because of His love
for us that He remains with us on earth in the Blessed sacrament. Jesus himself promised,
"Behold, I am with you always, even until the end of time." (Mt. 28:20). Jesus
is always ready to listen to us and to speak to us. Are we ready to respond to His love by
committing an hour each week to be in His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament?
Christ the King Church has been inviting parishioners to commit to Perpetual
Eucharistic Adoration since our chapel opened in June, 2000. Many have answered that call
and have faithfully come to adore Jesus in the special hour that they have committed to
Him. It is these adorers' unselfish commitment of one hour (or more) each week that allows
others to drop by for a visit.
It takes committed adorers to collectively keep our chapel open, day and night, seven
days a week. Without these committed adorers, we could not continue this beautiful
devotion of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.
We have made every effort to have at least two scheduled adorers for each hour.
Although both attend at the scheduled hour, there may be the rare occasion that one of the
adorers may be unable to attend, and the prayer partner is present to fulfill the
commitment.
The exterior church doors are unlocked between approximately 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
daily, for anyone wanting to make a visit. But, scheduled adorers have 24-hour access.
Jesus is waiting for you in the Blessed Sacrament. Are you ready to make a commitment
to Him NOW?
Become a scheduled adorer. Call one of the following people for the time that interests
you:
12:00 Midnight - 5:00 a.m.: Marie - 839-1205
6:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.: Maureen - 839-5044
12:00 Noon - 5:00 p.m.: Linda - 839-1889
6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.: Paul - 839-9641
EUCHARISTIC PERPETUAL ADORATION CHAPEL is located at the top of the stairs, when
entering the Church from the circular driveway on Lamarck Drive.
Below are comments from people who made

CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2003
Target Weekend - April 5th & 6th
Last week you should have received in the mail, your Catholic Charities donation request,
which includes a letter from Msgr Lichtenthal, a card with your name on it, & a return
envelope. Please indicate the amount of your donation on the card, enclose it with a check
or cash and return it by mail or in the collection basket, on or before THE
WEEKEND OF APRIL 5TH & 6TH.
Your support of this year's Appeal is vital. Please consider increasing your donation this
year by pledging a larger amount, & making payments in several installments. A gift of
$100 is less than $2 per week. Try to join the Large Gift donor group by giving a minimum
of $250. This is what helps make our parish go over the top every year. Let us show Fr.
Joe Sicari (Director of Catholic Charities and weekend assistant at Christ the King), our
support.
If you are employed by a firm that "matches gifts" to charitable institutions,
secure a form from your personnel office and forward the completed form to the Catholic
Charities Appeal Office. Your contribution is used to bring strength and stability to the
community. Please give generously!

Today's Focus: Thirsty for Love - If left unquenched, physical thirst can result in a
horrible death. Spiritual thirst can lead to spiritual death if we try to satisfy it with
the wrong things. Today's Scriptures show us that Christ is the only one who can truly
satisfy our spirits when we are thirsty for love.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2003
Target Weekend - April 5th & 6th
By now, you should have received in the mail, your Catholic Charities donation request,
which includes a letter from Msgr Lichtenthal, a card with your name on it, & a return
envelope. Please indicate the amount of your donation on the card, enclose it with a check
or cash and return it by mail or in the collection basket, on or before THE WEEKEND OF
APRIL 5TH & 6TH.

year by pledging a larger amount, & making payments in several installments. A gift of
$100 is less than $2 per week. Try to join the Large Gift donor group by giving a minimum
of $250. This is what helps make our parish go over the top every year. Let us show Fr.
Joe Sicari (Director of Catholic Charities and help with weekend masses at Christ the
King), our support.
If you are employed by a firm that "matches gifts" to charitable institutions,
secure a form from your personnel office and forward the completed form to the Catholic

A VOCATION VIEW
Jesus cleaned out the temple of money-changers. He was angry; He was zealous; He spoke wit
authority. He was doing what He had to do even though it involved risk, danger, insult and
wonder. Such is a religious vocation in the Church. If you think God might be calling you
to one, call Fr. Leon Biernat 847-5535.

PIPE ORGAN "PORTRAITS"
The installation of the new pipe-work for our Moller pipe organ has been completed. Here
are some facts to prepare for this event: 1) A 61-note 2' Super Octave has been installed
to complement the "Great Chorus." This new rank of pipes will add color an
clearer pitch to the accompaniment of congregational singing. 2) A 61-note 3 Rank Mixture
totaling 183 pipes has been installed to complement and finish the Great Chorus. Mixtures
build up ensemble or solo tones into the higher reaches of the harmonic series. All of
this work adds to the musical integrity and beauty of the Moller Pipe Organ at CTK, which
is the original instrument from over 75 years ago. The pipe organ is an agent of
expression and with its ancient heritage brings reverence and respect throughout worship.
TRADITIONAL FORMS OF PRAYER: LITURGICAL PRYER
It's the strangest thing. Liturgical Prayer is one of our Catholic trademarks, yet it may
be the form of prayer we need to brush up on most. We know how to pray privately during
Mass. What we need to re-learn is how to pray the Mass together.
The difference between most forms of prayer and liturgical prayer is something like the
difference between singing a solo and singing with a group. Or, in sports, the difference
between competing as an individual and being part of a team.
When a family gathers on Thanksgiving, there is a certain spirit in the air, and you can
sense it. The same is meant to happen when we gather for liturgy. We are fed by the
presence and spirit and participation of one another.
Liturgical prayer is not hard to do, not complicated. To make it happen, however, those
present have to enter into the spirit of the gathering rather than turn in on themselves.
If a group gathered to celebrate a friend's birthday, not a person there would simply
stare straight ahead while everyone sang "Happy Birthday." But for some reason,
we can find ourselves doing just that at a liturgy when a song is being sung to the Lord.
The liturgies in the season of Lent and Easter are rich and full. The beginning of Lent is
a good time for us to take a look at our level of participation at liturgy. Or, even more
basic, how often we go. - taken from The Little Black Lenten Book - Sunday, 2nd Week of
Lent.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FROM MARCH 3RD
" First Reconciliation for 64 of our children at CTK took place the first weekend in
March and Msgr. Lichtenthal reports we can be justly proud of the Religious Education
Program at our parish. The children were well-prepared for the sacrament thanks to the
efforts of our teachers and volunteers and the participation of the parents.
" More than 300 completed Parish Spiritual Surveys have been returned so far with
many insightful comments and suggestions. All parishioners are encouraged to complete and
return the survey at their earliest convenience so that their voices are heard in
determining the direction and spiritual growth of our faith community.
" Plans for a Mother's Day Mass and Breakfast sponsored by the Parish Council are
nearing completion with more information to come. Ticket sales to begin in April.
" A moment of silence and special prayer was observed in honor of Joseph Sperrazza, a
Parish Council member who passed away in February.
" The next Parish Council Meeting is scheduled by April 7th

CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2003
Target Weekend - April 5th & 6th
By now, you should have received in the mail, your Catholic Charities donation request,
which includes a letter from Msgr Lichtenthal, a card with your name on it, & a return
envelope. Please indicate the amount of your donation on the card, enclose it with a check
or cash and return it by mail or in the collection basket, on or before NEXT WEEKEND - THE
TARGET WEEKEND - APRIL 5TH & 6TH.
Joe Sicari (Director of Catholic Charities who assists us at Christ the King), our
support. If you are employed by a firm that "matches gifts" to charitable
institutions, secure a form from your personnel office and forward the completed form to
the Catholic Charities Appeal Office. Your contribution is used to bring strength and
stability to the community. Please give generously!

PIPE ORGAN "PORTRAITS" - The installation of the new pipe-work for our Moller
pipe organ has been completed. Here are some facts to prepare for this event: 1) A 61-note
2' Super Octave has been installed to complement the "Great Chorus." This new
rank of pipes will add color an clearer pitch to the accompaniment of congregational
singing. 2) A 61-note 3 Rank Mixture totaling 183 pipes has been installed to complement
and finish the Great Chorus. Mixtures build up ensemble or solo tones into the higher
reaches of the harmonic series. All of this work adds to the musical integrity and beauty
of the Moller Pipe Organ at CTK, which is the original instrument from over 75 years ago.
The pipe organ is an agent of expression and with its ancient heritage brings reverence
and respect throughout worship.

men and women and for world peace? Come stop in the chapel to say a prayer, or make a
sacrifice, and sign up to become a regular adorer.
