Have a happy and blessed Easter. School resumes on Monday, April 28th
CTK SCHOOL BASKETBALL NEWS - Girls JV (6th) - Our JV Girls showed steady improvement
throughout the season, evidenced by a 23-10 championship victory over St. Gregory's. Great
season girls! Boys JV (6th) - Despite shooting only 4 of 17 from the foul line, our 6th
grade boys kept their perfect record n tact with a 38-32 championship victory over St.
Amelia's. The Junior Badgers finished with a 19-0 record. Girls JV (5th) - It's a good
thing CTK held St. Rose scoreless in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters, because their great
defense allowed them to hod on just long enough to sneak by with a two-point championship
victory over St. Rose. Boys JV (5th) - our boys had one of their best offensive outputs of
the season. But it wasn't quite enough as CTK dropped a 38-33 decision to St. Mark's in
the finals.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2003
HOPE - Yours to Give
Rejoice in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus! Know that what you have
done during Catholic Charities Appeal 2003 will help return individuals and families in
our community to a place of strength and stability. Thank you and may God bless you.
As of Tuesday, April 15th, our parish donated $191,000 to Catholic Charities. The Catholic
Charities Appeal 2003 reached it's goal, but the need is still great. If you haven't done
so already, please make your gift today. All we need is a pledge - every little bit helps.
Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.
Your support of this year's Appeal is vital. Please consider increasing your donation this
year by pledging a larger amount, & making payments in several installments. A gift of
$100 is less than $2 per week. Try to join the Large Gift donor group by giving a minimum
of $250. This is what helps make our parish go over the top every year. Let us show Fr.
Joe Sicari (Director of Catholic Charities who assists us at Christ the King), our
support.
If you are employed by a firm that "matches gifts" to charitable institutions,
secure a form from your personnel office and forward the completed form to the Catholic
Charities Appeal Office. Your contribution is used to bring strength and stability to the
community. Please indicate the amount of your donation on the card, enclose it with a
check or cash and return it in today's collection basket, or to the Rectory as soon as
possible. Please give generously! For more details on Catholic Charities, call 856-4494 or
visit our website at www.ccwny.org.

THE EASTER LILY
The lily - a tall, fragrant plant with long, pointed leaves - is the symbol of Easter
because of its shape resembling a trumpet that heralds the resurrection of Jesus.
HAPPY EASTER!!!
Dear Parishioner,
Greetings in the Risen Lord. How fortunate we are to be a Resurrection people; people
immersed in the belief that Jesus has conquered sin and death for us by His death and
glorious Resurrection.
As we gather at this time of year, renewed and refreshed in our faith, we join together as
a parish family to renew our Baptismal promises and our fidelity to the Risen Lord and His
Church. May God's blessing remain with all of you as we celebrate together and sing our
"Alleluias" until the Lord shall come again.
On behalf of our priests and sisters who serve here, I wish each of you a Blessed Easter.
Many thanks for your thoughtfulness in cards and gifts this Holy Season.
In Christ our King,
Msgr. James Lichtenthal
Father Joe Sicari
Sister Mary Ellen Tucker, OSF
THE LITTLE WHITE BOOKS
The Little White Books with reflections for the Easter Season are available in the back of
Church today. These are used as a continuation of the Little Black Books, which were
distributed for Lent. The Easter Season begins on Monday, April 21st and continues through
Pentecost Sunday on June 8th.
EASTER THANK-YOU'S EXTENDED TO:
" The Altar Decorating Committee, for the beautiful display of Easter flowers in both
our Churches.
" Dan Staszak, our Maintenance Supervisor, for all the extra work he has done to help
prepare our churches for the Easter celebration. His preparation began 3-weeks ago with
the polishing of the brass and copper candlesticks, and continued through Easter, helping
Msgr. make sure everything was where it should be for the appropriate celebrations.
" Christians Shrewsbury, Director of Music Ministry, and the Parish Choir, who helped
make the Easter season so special, especially for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good
Friday's Way of the Cross, the Easter Vigil, and at the Easter Sunday Masses. Thank you
also to Bryan Eckenrode, and Kevin Durkin for their help during this Lenten Season.
" Eileen Summers, for making all of the purple coverings for the statues in our
Churches, and to Mike Summers who with Eileen's help, set up the Repository for Holy
Thursday.
" The Actors & Actresses who presented The Way of the Cross, on Good Friday. Many
thanks also to Debbi Testa, for organizing and directing this wonderfully touching
program.
" To Our Lectors, Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers and Ushers for their
dedication to these ministries which assist our priests during the Mass.
EASTER DUTY
Part of our Lenten regulations requires us to "perform our Easter Duty," that
is, to receive Holy Communion as least once a year, between Ash Wednesday and Trinity

like the wonderful and fulfilling thing God intended it to be from the creation." -
